Here is another instalment of our coverage from the Indie Gathering 2011 that Lumpy got to attend and cover for us to bring us these great interviews. This interview was with Robert Fadeley of You Didn’t See Anything Productions. Interested in alien abductions? If so, this interview may be right up you alley.
The Indie Gathering event of 2011 was amazing with 3 screening rooms showing showing films all day. Lumpy was there to catch all the action and get this great interview with Robert Fadeley. His documentary To be chosen, Life as Alien Abductees was showing at this event and received an Honorable Mention. Robert also won first place for his Christian Music video, “Louise’s Testimony: I Made it In”.
Congratulations go to Robert for receiving both awards as it shows all of your hard work has truly paid off. We also wish you even more success in the future.
Robert also has been attending this event six out of its fifteen year run so far. He started off volunteering in the screening rooms and hasn’t left since. Not only does he get great enjoyment out of doing this he also learns how to better his editing skills too.
Robert’s been in this industry for the last forty years doing stage production, making his own sets, running the camera and anything that you can think of regarding this industry. His largest about of experience in these last forty years have been in film editing. Robert tells us that in the last 40 years the most challenging thing about being in the industry is learning what to do when and eventually you learn to just let things come.
Such wonderful words to think about and some very good advice. Speaking of advice, his best advice to those that are trying to get in to the industry is to attend this yearly event called The Indie Gathering.
This annual event is a must attend for anyone in the independent film industry. Whether you score movies, act, edit, direct, do make-up, costume or special effects, this is an event that you should mark on your calendar each and every year. The event features many, many screenings in three simultaneously running screening rooms, many seminars and demonstrations for all who attend and contests for those who enter. You can find out more about this event over at theindiegathering.com.
