Stupid As Charged Number 011
This week’s “Stupid As Charged” consists of three stories which all share the theme of stupid, dumb, strange, weird or in some other way are worthy of a dunce cap rating. In particular this episode; Dumbness or Drunkenness, How to get our of Jury Duty and go to Jail and, last but not least, getting tracked by your footprints.
Drunk or Not Sometime Dumb is Just Dumb
From Dumb Criminals a story mentioned by them at The Huffington Post was worth the hope to read more. There may have been a drunk involved in this one but… sometimes even massive amounts of alcohol can not rule out that stupidity must have been involved.
In this case, one may think that having the thought “I think I should get up and do karaoke” is just the booze expressing it’s self . The same may be true to having the “now it is time to strip” thought. However, knocking out the manager of the restaurant you are “entertaining” (whether they want you to or not) is closer or past “dumb” and not drunk. Making sure you taunt the manager as you are loaded into the police cruiser just to assure me in my judgement, more dumb in ya’ than drunk.
We thought I’m a Better Drunk Than I Used to Be” from Andy, Steve and Andy would be a fit close for this story.
Woman’s Crazy Jury Duty Scheme Goes Bust
A Colorado woman who was to get out of jury duty and then called into a talk radio program to brag about what she did is now behind bars after the judge whom she pulled the ruse on turned out to be listening to her on the show.
Her devised plan, “to appear to be mentally unstable” by wearing “mismatched shoes, reindeer socks…and a shirt that bore the caption ‘Ask me about my best seller.’” She also claimed to have lived on the street and that she suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder resulting from domestic abuse she experienced in the military.
The court reporter describes “a female juror with hair curlers in her hair of all colors, shapes and sizes…Her makeup looked like something you would wear during a performance in a theater.”

Footprints in Snow Guide Faribault Police from Burglary Scene Right to Suspects
Usually, when people talk about the importance of “covering your tracks,” they mean it in a figurative sense. These guys would’ve heeded that advice literally. The two allegedly broke into a business in Faribault and left the scene without being apprehended after an alarm went off. Police noticed two sets of fresh footprints leading away from the building, suggesting that whoever left them was running But police, after the fresh footprints in the snow, were able to find the bumbling duo hanging out in a nearby cemetery. Now they’re each facing felony
third-degree burglary charges.
