Elder Scrolls goes MMO

Bethesda and ZeniMax Studios are allegedly preparing to unveil an Elder Scrolls massively multiplayer game this May, Tom’s Guide has learned.

Citing an anonymous “industry source,” the site said the MMO will take place 1,000 years before the time of Skyrim and hundreds of years before any of the other Elder Scrolls titles, near or during the “Second Era,” Tom’s Guide said.

We took a music break with Flow from Greg Spero.

Through Gamer Goggles is a new news and media blog for gamers. We focus on blending or balancing our real lives with our games. This has lead us to product reviews, unboxings, and how to videos. We also write articles on game strategies, better role playing, and just plain old guessing about the industry. We aren’t going to stop their, we have plans for RL too like food.

This week

  • D&D 5th ed
  • RPG theatre
  • Warmachine Colossals

Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition

WotC has announced 5th ed.

You can read about some of our thoughts and concerns in the links below. The articles also contain the links to the articles in Forbes and the Wall Street Journal.

Ryan’s Response to 5th ed

Matt’s response to 5th ed

Basically, they are attempting to make a melting pot of D&D. The hope is they will grab the attention of the early players. The players from 20 and 30 years ago, that are still playing. And return them to a universal system. I like the idea, but I believe in the end will fail because there is no real reason for that player to change systems. 5th ed will have to be so unique and so groundbreaking that it makes everything obsolete in the role playing world. I just don’t think a game can be made to do that.
