Shelita Burke – Belong
I shall share Belong after the break, it is a lovely mix of vocals and music. The lyrics are very poetic and her vocal approach nicely uses repetition to create a song that pleases the ears. It left me wanting more Shelita Burke. I am confident you shall feel the same way.
James Hill Rocks on ukulele
Some musical instruments are usually not taken too seriously. In my humble opinion, “the Uke” is all too often erroneously placed in that category. James Hill is on a mission to destroy that myth. He super-seriously rocks on the ukulele.
Not only does he does perform but also teaches. Check out his mastery in the videos after the break. You shall be amazed at the types of sound he creates. Seriously on of the craziest creative things I have ever seen.
The Heimatdamisch Covers Highway to Hell
The Heimatdamish is an eight-piece-polka-style band that is not shy about doing pop songs. I thought I would share a few of their covers today.
The Heimatdamish – Highway to Hell
They do a great job making interesting-one-set videos which are far from boring. One more video and links after the break.
Lila Cheney – An Awesome Xmen Themed Music Video
I really like this video by Lila Cheney & The New Mutants. I hope the copyright vultures don’t swoop down on this creative parody. It is too kewl to have its innards torn out of the Internet. I don’t think it is super spectacular but it is a perfect fit for myself. Maybe it goes back to my childhood. I was into both Xmen and music before I was school.
I love the theme. I love the effects and I especially love how well the music and the video work with each other.
Some Recent Music Trends
Seems that the ever-changing music industry is continuing to do just that. 2015 saw some interesting music trends. First off, streaming is up and digital downloads are down. Even The Beatles are now available on streams. In many ways, it makes sense that streaming is up. You pay for a service, or get it free, and you don’t need to buy each release. However, vinyl is making a comeback at the same time.
Latchkey Revolt – High Energy Rock from Singapore
Latchkey Revolt is a quartet from Singapore. They are a hard-hitting rock band that pound the listener with great sound, grooves and solos. I like them much.
Disclaimer – Some of the lyrics in this material are explicit. This material is not safe for work. Listener discretion is advised.
Now if a little language does not bother you, I really suggest you listen on. These artists drive the songs from start to finish. All feature a powerful drive, each having their own individualism, and absolutely nothing dull about any of them. In my opinion, a great listen. Check out some Latchkey Revolt after the break.
Awesome House Track, GuMix Radio – 389 – 2015 on 33-45
I listen to many podcasts. One of them I enjoy much is GuMix. I will get to more about this artist in a bit… a good long bit. The track I am sharing below is a long, awesome house track. Listeners, get your groove on with GuMix 389 – 2015 on 33-45. Will talk more about this track after the break. This is, in my opinion, an awesome hour and a half groove.

2016.01.11 – National Milk Day
Featuring Moo Moo Cow by Seamonkey
Today is National Milk Day. Personally, I stick with the soy stuff for anything other than baking and hot cocoa. However, milk is, in my opinion, at as American as apple pie. Especially since apple pie is best with a healthy scoop of ice cream.
If you wish te celebrate it by more than just downing a glass of the liquid. Family Crafts has a list of activities.
2016.01.07 – International Programmers Day
Featuring Code Monkey by Jonathan Coulton
Today is International Programmers Day. You can take part by liking the Facebook page. I would urge you to check out their website and page. They have some very interesting and entertaining material there. Check out the “Lady JAVA” video I share after the break.
2016.01.06 – Technology Day
Featuring Ambientasia by DJ Trackstyle
Today is National Technology Day. Personally, I have a serious love-hate relationship with technology. I love to try to use it but I hate fighting with my old PCs to make them work.
I also love applied technology when it comes to music. I am not one of those who feel that synth music is soulless. I have been around synthesizers since the days of monophonic patch cord Moogs. I still have a DX7 sitting my studio and love electronic music.
It seemed appropriate to go with a synth song today. I found this artist way back in the day at the now non-existent Podsafe Music Network. I am going to spin Ambientasia by DJ Trackstyle
While most of the links in my notes are now useless, a few Google searches showed me that the DJ is still out there. You can find DJ Trackstyle at the links below.
Thanks for listening and downloading. Please remember to support the indie musicians.
