Compilation no. 1
I could not agree more wholeheartedly with the choice. Mr. Reagan’s music a pleasing, energetic and a must have for your collection. Dreamy vocals, catchy riffs, and his percussion create a wonderful light and airy alternative sound.
While I got this request a long while ago, great music is timeless. Leah Noble is a talented singer/songwriter. She has a pleasing voice and delivers creative lyrics painting wonderful images with her music.
Strangers Again is great 5-track EP that grabs your ear with the very first track and entertains to the very last note. Her music is lovely, emotional and moving.
The Long Winter
Back in 2015, Mick Southerland wrote us about Lucha and their first release, an EP titled The Long Winter.
Forgive the long wait, but it is worth it.
Still catching up on the inbox after so much time away. I have another gem to share today. Carolyn Marie is a pop powerhouse serving up excellent music and videos. She is also a very talented dancer and choreographer. Additionally, she is in touch with e-media via her zine.
The Moment was produced by multiplatinum Grammy-winning, producer, Earl Cohen.
Alcohol & Bad Decisions
Psychocide is a hard rocking quartet from Montreal. Their music is explosive and energetic. Their latest release, Alcohol & Bad Decisions shall be available March 3, 2017.
The album is engineered by Christian Cummings who has worked with U2, Blink-182, Switchfoot and The Used. The album is a concept album which tells the story of characters that will be in a future comic book. After the break is a music video from the band.
An advantage of being far behind on inbox submissions is I can be super-selective. You are going to love what Pseudonym.
First, I shall let this musician introduce himself. From his bio on BandCamp:
“Pseudonym is a band consisting of me, Paul Desjarlais, and other real or imaginary people. Back in Boston a long time ago I used to play bass for The Uncalled Four, and then for Haberland. After that I released a cassette album called Pabz, and later a CD called Pig Tail World. Now I live in San Francisco and I record songs when I get a chance and sometimes post albums online.”
With so many out there with a synthesizer, drum machine, minimal skills, and a computer self-proclaimed a DIY musician, it is a tag line here at Indie Nation… “We listen to bad music so you don’t have to”. Pseudonym is a welcome exception.
Hard Blues Rockin’ Band from Israel
Happy New Year all. I am still digging through my inbox backlog. No worries great music is timeless. Let us all kick off the first Monday of 2017 with some awesome rockin’ blues from Full Trunk.
Previously known as Nisman Trio this Israel-based band really kicks ass. I immediately listened to and loved every track… even though, at times, I can’t understand the lyrics. Don’t let the fact that some of their material is in Hebrew, they have plenty of Tunes sung in English.
Blah Blah Blah
Juliana Wilson is a 13-year-old talent who hails from New York. While she may still be an adolescent, she has several lifetimes of talent. Her track Blah Blah Blah, written by Matty Amendola and Helen Austin, has a kaleidoscope of eclectic instrumentation and wonderful changes making it a treat for the listener. The video is also an ultra-creative production that projects the lyrics and persona of the artist wonderfully.
That said, the best thing about the song is the young lady’s singing. She has a terrific voice, varies the delivery of lyrics perfectly with the music, and totally nails the performance visually. In my opinion, we should be blessed with much more music from this Juliana. She definitely has what it takes to be up and coming!
Lila Cheney – An Awesome Xmen Themed Music Video
I really like this video by Lila Cheney & The New Mutants. I hope the copyright vultures don’t swoop down on this creative parody. It is too kewl to have its innards torn out of the Internet. I don’t think it is super spectacular but it is a perfect fit for myself. Maybe it goes back to my childhood. I was into both Xmen and music before I was school.
I love the theme. I love the effects and I especially love how well the music and the video work with each other.
2016.01.11 – National Milk Day
Featuring Moo Moo Cow by Seamonkey
Today is National Milk Day. Personally, I stick with the soy stuff for anything other than baking and hot cocoa. However, milk is, in my opinion, at as American as apple pie. Especially since apple pie is best with a healthy scoop of ice cream.
If you wish te celebrate it by more than just downing a glass of the liquid. Family Crafts has a list of activities.
2016.01.06 – Technology Day
Featuring Ambientasia by DJ Trackstyle
Today is National Technology Day. Personally, I have a serious love-hate relationship with technology. I love to try to use it but I hate fighting with my old PCs to make them work.
I also love applied technology when it comes to music. I am not one of those who feel that synth music is soulless. I have been around synthesizers since the days of monophonic patch cord Moogs. I still have a DX7 sitting my studio and love electronic music.
It seemed appropriate to go with a synth song today. I found this artist way back in the day at the now non-existent Podsafe Music Network. I am going to spin Ambientasia by DJ Trackstyle
While most of the links in my notes are now useless, a few Google searches showed me that the DJ is still out there. You can find DJ Trackstyle at the links below.
Thanks for listening and downloading. Please remember to support the indie musicians.
