From Slide to Play:

“Well, it’s about time. Wizards of the Coast has announced that they’re bringing an official Magic: The Gathering game to iOS. While plenty of other card battling games have come to the platform (including Kard Combat, which was also made by the legendary Richard Garfield), we’ve been waiting impatiently for an official Magic: The Gathering game. The wait is almost over, as Wizards of the Coast is bringing Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 to the iPad this summer.”

Greg Spero

Get your goggles on and join us, along with an additional guest, Jamie Gray as Matt, Lumpy and Cleta look at things from a gamer’s point of view. In this week’s show we shall discuss The Elder Scrolls going MMO and a series involving Felicia Day and Will Wheaton and, yes, gaming!

We opened this week’s show with Hills from Greg Spero’s latest release, Acoustic. You can find out more about Greg Spero at:

Elder Scrolls goes MMO

Bethesda and ZeniMax Studios are allegedly preparing to unveil an Elder Scrolls massively multiplayer game this May, Tom’s Guide has learned.

Citing an anonymous “industry source,” the site said the MMO will take place 1,000 years before the time of Skyrim and hundreds of years before any of the other Elder Scrolls titles, near or during the “Second Era,” Tom’s Guide said.

We took a music break with Flow from Greg Spero.

Video Games Good for You

From the Wall Street Journal

“Videogames can change a person’s brain and, as researchers are finding, often that change is for the better. A growing body of university research suggests that gaming improves creativity, decision-making and perception. The specific benefits are wide ranging, from improved hand-eye coordination in surgeons to vision changes that boost night driving ability. “

Other points to note

  • Women that play video games are better able to manipulate 3D objects

  • Violent games have the strongest beneficial effect, But they are a two-edged sword. Compulsive video gaming can lead to obesity, introversion, and even depression. What was the name of that Bobby Brown song? Every gamer needs to listen to this while they play Don’t Worry Be Happy

  • According to the article the average gamer is 34 and plays about 18 hours a week.

We then played Pac Man by Devo Spice with Worm Quartet Both are members of The FuMP.
