Lady Gaga was forced to cancel her last 25 remaining U.S. “Born This Way” tour dates after it was revealed that she has a right Labral hip tear, caused by strenuous repetitive movements in her performances and had to undergo emergency surgery.
A hip labral tear involves the ring of soft elastic tissue, called the labrum, that follows the outside rim of the socket of your hip joint. The labrum acts like a socket to hold the ball at the top of your femur in place.
Lady Gaga revealed Tuesday that she secretly suffered an injury more than a month ago. Gaga tweeted that she hid the pain from her staff because she didn’t want to disappoint her fans, however after a February 12th show, she was left immobile. On February 16th “Mother Monster” as she is known by her adoring fans, tweeted a picture of her new wheel chair she affectionately calls “Emma”.
In a statement posted on her website, Live Nation announced, “After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip. She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover.”
We here at Indie Nation, wish Lady Gaga a speedy recovery.
