What would monk who took a vow of silence do for a Christmas show? These high school students present a creative answer to the question.
Silent Monks Christmas Show
John Glenn of the band Stellar Young reached out to us a while ago. Fortunately, great music is timeless.
Stellar Young is a band from Albany, New York. To my knowledge, they have at least six releases to date.
Grain of Sand
Bill McBirnie and Bruce Jones – Brazilian Flute Music
While I am literally years behind on keeping up with my inbox, I still keep every email until I read and review it. Great music is timeless.
Bill McBirnie and Bruce Jones reached out to us in February of 2015. Their release Grains of Sand is a solid collection of Brazilian flute music. (Actually, it is much more than Brazilian.

. That is sad. I shall always remember him as one of the most brilliant musicians of all time. His dark style of lyrics and breaking all the musical rules are simply the surface of his genius. He did all genre of music and it may be next century before we fully comprehend how brilliant his music is.
One great example of his musical genius is the track Rubber Shirt from the Sheik Yerbouti double album. The album became a huge hit when it was censored. The album is full of overdubs and is a masterful mix of songs. The Rubber Shirt track is an example of what Zappa called “Xanochrony”. The song is a mix of different musicians all recorded at different times, time signatures and tempos. The result sounds like a wonderful jazz improv.
David Bowie Impersonates Elvis for Christmas
The late David Bowie shall be remembered for many achievents, acting, writing and more. One of his lesser known talents should be noted as well. As mentioned here previously, an impersonator. Check out what he did for Christmas in 2013.

Blah Blah Blah
Juliana Wilson is a 13-year-old talent who hails from New York. While she may still be an adolescent, she has several lifetimes of talent. Her track Blah Blah Blah, written by Matty Amendola and Helen Austin, has a kaleidoscope of eclectic instrumentation and wonderful changes making it a treat for the listener. The video is also an ultra-creative production that projects the lyrics and persona of the artist wonderfully.
That said, the best thing about the song is the young lady’s singing. She has a terrific voice, varies the delivery of lyrics perfectly with the music, and totally nails the performance visually. In my opinion, we should be blessed with much more music from this Juliana. She definitely has what it takes to be up and coming!
We have featured Steve Benjamins at Indie Nation before when I reviewed Sightlines. You should check out that release and anything else he has done.
I am pleased to see that this talent from Toronto is still pumping out great music. His music could be described as downtempo but Steve is great a mixing it up. He has a powerful voice and his lyrics paint pictures in your mind and stir your emotions. Check our Surrender.
Shelita Burke – Belong
I shall share Belong after the break, it is a lovely mix of vocals and music. The lyrics are very poetic and her vocal approach nicely uses repetition to create a song that pleases the ears. It left me wanting more Shelita Burke. I am confident you shall feel the same way.
