Matt Reagan – Compilation no. 1
Matt Reagan
Compilation no. 1
Anchor Music News picked Matt Reagan as 2016’s artist of the year.
I could not agree more wholeheartedly with the choice. Mr. Reagan’s music a pleasing, energetic and a must have for your collection. Dreamy vocals, catchy riffs, and his percussion create a wonderful light and airy alternative sound.
Leah Noble – Strangers Again
Leah Noble
Strangers Again
While I got this request a long while ago, great music is timeless. Leah Noble is a talented singer/songwriter. She has a pleasing voice and delivers creative lyrics painting wonderful images with her music.
Strangers Again is great 5-track EP that grabs your ear with the very first track and entertains to the very last note. Her music is lovely, emotional and moving.
Bad Cop Music – Dreamer Man
Bad Cop Music
Dreamer Man
Quoting their SoundCloud page:
“Bad Cop, from Nashville, Tennessee, is at the center of all things that make all great rock bands the way they are: tight musicianship and songwriting. The songs on Bad Cop’s forthcoming Album play as instantly memorable, catchy pop melodies – because, after all, they are, whether creaking across the wooden barroom floor or barreling full-speed towards the reckless abandon of hardcore punk. But moreover, there is a spirit, wild-eyed and desperate, pulling you in and shaking you up.”
If you like hard-driving powerful music, you shall love this band.
Lucha – The Long Winter
Lucha
The Long Winter
Back in 2015, Mick Southerland wrote us about Lucha and their first release, an EP titled The Long Winter.
Forgive the long wait, but it is worth it.
Carolyn Marie – The Moment
Carolyn Marie
The Moment
Still catching up on the inbox after so much time away. I have another gem to share today. Carolyn Marie is a pop powerhouse serving up excellent music and videos. She is also a very talented dancer and choreographer. Additionally, she is in touch with e-media via her zine.
The Moment was produced by multiplatinum Grammy-winning, producer, Earl Cohen.
Psychocide – Bad Decisions & Alcohol
Psychocide
Alcohol & Bad Decisions
Psychocide is a hard rocking quartet from Montreal. Their music is explosive and energetic. Their latest release, Alcohol & Bad Decisions shall be available March 3, 2017.
The album is engineered by Christian Cummings who has worked with U2, Blink-182, Switchfoot and The Used. The album is a concept album which tells the story of characters that will be in a future comic book. After the break is a music video from the band.
Pseudonym
Pseudonym
An advantage of being far behind on inbox submissions is I can be super-selective. You are going to love what Pseudonym.
First, I shall let this musician introduce himself. From his bio on BandCamp:
“Pseudonym is a band consisting of me, Paul Desjarlais, and other real or imaginary people. Back in Boston a long time ago I used to play bass for The Uncalled Four, and then for Haberland. After that I released a cassette album called Pabz, and later a CD called Pig Tail World. Now I live in San Francisco and I record songs when I get a chance and sometimes post albums online.”
With so many out there with a synthesizer, drum machine, minimal skills, and a computer self-proclaimed a DIY musician, it is a tag line here at Indie Nation… “We listen to bad music so you don’t have to”. Pseudonym is a welcome exception.
Wetwood Smokes
Wetwood Smokes
A Kick Ass Band from Orange County with Serious Classic Rock Roots
One of the good things about taking a year off is that I have lots of music in my inbox and I allows me to selective. The downside is having to listen to large doses of bad stuff for the sake of protecting your ears. This band gave my ears a break from audio torture. Wetwood Smokes contacted us asking for our take on their second release Organ Donor.
Since then, they have released their third aptly named, Our Third. I contacted Chrystian because I was unsure what they would most like reviewed and, based on the information at their website, I was unsure if they were touring and still a trio.
Chrystian, replied. They are now a quartet and, told me to – what I liked best.
Full Trunk
Full Trunk
Hard Blues Rockin’ Band from Israel
Happy New Year all. I am still digging through my inbox backlog. No worries great music is timeless. Let us all kick off the first Monday of 2017 with some awesome rockin’ blues from Full Trunk.
Previously known as Nisman Trio this Israel-based band really kicks ass. I immediately listened to and loved every track… even though, at times, I can’t understand the lyrics. Don’t let the fact that some of their material is in Hebrew, they have plenty of Tunes sung in English.
VanDeRocker – Kissing Booth
VanDeRocker
Kissing Booth
Personally, I am a bit of a snow lover but I am already hearing “Okay, Christmas is over bring on summer”. The song I am sharing should have you thinking summer because it has a certain surf music feel to it.
Before we get to the video, though, a little more information on Adrienne VanDerRocker. From her bio page:
“VanDeRocker is the L.A. based indie rock/electro-pop project of Adrienne VanDeRocker, a composer and songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist. Adrienne grew up in Austin, belonging to a Dutch-American family of classical musicians. Piano was her primary instrument in her childhood, but as she became more interested in rock music (and less interested in school), she developed an interest in guitar and writing songs. By 12 years of age, she began performing in local bars with her sister’s band, which marked the beginning of a deep fascination with the world of music and performance art.”
Silent Monks
What would monk who took a vow of silence do for a Christmas show? These high school students present a creative answer to the question.
