Alcohol & Bad Decisions
Psychocide is a hard rocking quartet from Montreal. Their music is explosive and energetic. Their latest release, Alcohol & Bad Decisions shall be available March 3, 2017.
The album is engineered by Christian Cummings who has worked with U2, Blink-182, Switchfoot and The Used. The album is a concept album which tells the story of characters that will be in a future comic book. After the break is a music video from the band.
Hard Blues Rockin’ Band from Israel
Happy New Year all. I am still digging through my inbox backlog. No worries great music is timeless. Let us all kick off the first Monday of 2017 with some awesome rockin’ blues from Full Trunk.
Previously known as Nisman Trio this Israel-based band really kicks ass. I immediately listened to and loved every track… even though, at times, I can’t understand the lyrics. Don’t let the fact that some of their material is in Hebrew, they have plenty of Tunes sung in English.
What would monk who took a vow of silence do for a Christmas show? These high school students present a creative answer to the question.

Only Known Video of Louis Armstrong in the Studio
There is no doubt the Louis Armstrong is an influence and a legend. As is the case with many early era musicians, video footage is hard to find. Too often the footage is lost, destroyed or never even existed. It was pleasing to see in a post at Open Culture that there does exist one video of “Satchmo” in the studio.
VoicePlay – Amazing A Cappella
VoicePlay is an amazing a capella quintet based out of Orlando Florida. The musicians use only their voices as instruments. Originally, a street corner barbershop act, now actively touring. (They play The Magic Kingdom often.)
VoicePlay is not your typical a capella act. They use their voices for more than vocals. The do great videos and come up with some great top tens.
Mnozil Brass is an Austrian brass septet. These horn players are talented and entertaining to watch. Not only performing excellent music but adding also add comedy to the performance.
The Heimatdamisch Covers Highway to Hell
The Heimatdamish is an eight-piece-polka-style band that is not shy about doing pop songs. I thought I would share a few of their covers today.
The Heimatdamish – Highway to Hell
They do a great job making interesting-one-set videos which are far from boring. One more video and links after the break.
Pink Floyd and Other Modern Music Performed on a Traditional Korean Instrument, The Gayageum
You may have already seen these videos. I noticed this Pink Floyd on the gayageum over at Boing! Boing!, saved it for further exploration and the next day found even more at Open Culture. Videos go viral for many reasons, in this case, the reason is Luna Lee’s talent.
More information, and videos, after the break. Check out how she nails the guitar parts about 2:30 in.

Jimi Hendrix – Moebius (S)trip
Before license fees changed it all, MTv transformed music into the realm of the visual. Music videos added another layer of creativity to music.
Less than a year ago, Google launched Deep Dream, AI software to create videos. The video below is the work of YouTuber Lulu xXX. A live performance of Hendrix playing Hey Joe fused with the art of Jean Giraud aka Moebius.

The Accidental Begining of “American Woman” by The Guess Who
Musicians try to jump on any creative spark as quickly as possible. When I was still composing, I wrote lyrics on napkins and matchbook covers because that was what was handy.
I am not going to spoil the video but listen in as Randy Bachman tells the tale of origin of American Woman.
The Origin of American Woman
Kudos to Open Culture for the find.
