This Week We Start with a Long Rant and End with a Long Track
We started off with a few from the Monterey International Pop Fest. They were:
- Buffalo Springfield – For What It’s Worth
- Otis Redding – Shake
- The Mamas and The Pappas – California Dreamin
Let Us Talk About “Walkers”
Musically, we opened up the show with RE: Your Brains by Jonathan Coulton
As some of you know, most of the staff at this station are HUUUUUGE Walking Dead fans. Brian and I actually have a hard time getting to the news stories sometimes because we start the Monday night Tech Net News and Opinion Show off with a quick review of the week’s previous episode. Brian and I thought we might do a Walking Dead only podcast. We hope you enjoy it and welcome your opinion.
Autumn visits Disney World… or something similar, Drew tempts Tim with a box, Mike loves french zombies and Zack can’t keep his eyes off of 3DD in this episode of The Midnight Spookshow! Reviews include Piranha 3DD, The Horde, The Box and more!
Autumn talks about lesbians, Drew seeks victims with a higher education, Tim discovers Steven Seagal’s cross-dressing twin, Zack enjoys good old fashioned family fun with torture, and Mike hate monkeys (he’s jealous of their opposable thumbs). Oh, and with quite possibly the classiest episode title to grace Midnight Spookshow, why wouldn’t you want to listen to this episode? Reviews include Mother’s Day, The Dawn, I Drink Your Blood, and more!
Zack is back, and he is on a mission to disturb Tim. Plus Mike has dangle issues, Drew experiences a blast from the past, Autumn enjoys dismemberment and Tim begins the great zombie debate of 2012. Reviews include Troma’s Father’s Day, Chillerama, Dead Snow, Event Horizon and more!
Zack is under the weather, but don’t fret! Tim is here to take over the hosting reigns… On second thought, fret away! Also on this episode, Amanda talks about hot sparkling vampire sex, Autumn digs zombie orgies, Drew get trapped in a house with an Olsen sister and Mike gets strangled by Kane Hodder… and likes it! Reviews include The Silent House, Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood, Locke and Key, Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and more!

Save the damsel in distress from the 9 blood-thirsty Zombies who are preparing to turn her into one of their own walking dead. Players take turns rolling a bomb ball toward the Zombie pins. The goal is to knock over the Zombies and keep the damsel standing. Easy to play. Wonderful high-quality wooden hand painted pieces are included. A bloody good game.
Well it is midnight. It is dark in both locations we broadcast from and it is time for Saturday’s Live Stream of Indie Soup which streams live weekly form 00:00 to 02:00 hrs on Indie Nation. We must warn the listener that this streams late at night and may contain material offensive to even those who have the lowest moral standards. It should be considered NOT SAFE FOR WORK or NSFW.
This one is everywhere but it is still rather entertaining news. I first got word of it over at TechDirt and soon after at Slashdot. It seems that an author over at The Center for Disease Control and Prevention got rather creative and post an article about how to prepare for a zombie apocalypse. The article opens as follows:
There are all kinds of emergencies out there that we can prepare for. Take a zombie apocalypse for example. That’s right, I said z-o-m-b-i-e a-p-o-c-a-l-y-p-s-e. You may laugh now, but when it happens you’ll be happy you read this, and hey, maybe you’ll even learn a thing or two about how to prepare for a real emergency.
The post also includes photos, a brief history of zombies, and really looks pretty darn good for a government blog. The article is actually about general disaster preparedness and, in my humble opinion, made a rather dry topic somewhat entertaining.
Before we get started, this show is recorded live late Friday nights. It is not safe for work or intended for children. We spin parody music and sometimes it goes a good lunar orbit or two past any type of PG rating. So get a glass of water and swallow our disclaimer pill and let us all freak and geek out on Friday nights.
Lately, the Yippie and I have been off on a bit of Dr. Demento style mood. Who knows maybe we make midnight Friday to do just that? What else would a station indie music geeks and IRC addicts do on a Friday night? Meshelly and I talk less frequently this podcast but stick around for a longer last call than usual where we ramble on about various news articles Indie Nation covered this week.
I am also starting to add affiliate links. I know that many of you love this music, this show and these artist. Please feel free to use the links to purchase CDs and MP3s and thereby support the artists and, at the same time, help the Lumpster reduce the cost dent of all of this. As usual, we would like to remind our listeners that we find the majority of our tunage at Mevio’s Music Alley and you can get many of the tracks there for 99 cents.
